What are the ways to buy at Sotheby’s?

We offer multiple ways to purchase extraordinary objects and art:
Auctions: Sotheby's auctions are live events where interested buyers bid on items in real time. Auctions typically take place in one of Sotheby's global salerooms, or they can be held online. Both our live and online auctions happen during set dates (please see calendar here).
Buy Now: Beyond the auction, we have a curated selection of items that can be purchased immediately at a fixed price. You can browse our items here.
Private Sales: Sotheby's specialists can advise on building your collection as well as make discreet enquiries and source specific objects by request. Private Sales are typically for high-value items or entire collections that do not get presented on the open market, although some examples of works available for sale can be viewed here. Estimates are only provided upon request through item pages on our website.
Sale Rooms: Sotheby's has salerooms in major cities around the world, including New York, London, Hong Kong, Paris, and Geneva. We host exhibitions of upcoming sale highlights and live auction events in these spaces, and the full list of locations can be found here.
