Yes. A 3% surcharge is applied to credit card payments for transactions based in New York. This fee helps offset processing costs charged to Sotheby’s by credit card companies. 

Clients who pay by debit card, wire transfer, or ACH are not charged this fee and the surcharge does not apply to purchases made through Buy Now or Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) wine.
