What are Late Collection Fees ?
Updated on Tue, 02 Jan, 2024 at 09:55 AM
Unless otherwise agreed by Sotheby’s, all purchased lots that have not been collected within 30 calendar days (or 60 calendar days if the buyer is a Sotheby’s Preferred member) from the date of the auction will be subject to late collection fees.
Similarly, for any property where our recommendation is to return unsold property to the consignor, the consignor will have 30 calendar days (or 60 calendar days if the consignor is a Sotheby’s Preferred member) to collect or arrange collection of the property from our premises.
Late Collection Fees comprise a one-time handling fee and daily late collection fee at the following rates:
| Dimensions (any single dimension) | One-time handling fee | Daily late collection fee |
Small | Less than or equal to 60 inches / 150cm | US$150 / £150 / €150 / CHF 150 / HK$1,200 | US$6 / £6 / €6 / CHF 6 / HK$50 |
Large | Greater than 60 inches / 150cm | US$200 / £200 / €200 / CHF 200 / HK$1,600 | US$10 / £10 / €10 / CHF 10 / HK$100 |
Handling fees billed shall not exceed US$500 / £500 / €500 / CHF 500 / HK$4,000 per sale.
All charges are payable to Sotheby's at our Post Sale Services Group and will be collected at the time of shipment/property collection.
Late collection fees will cease for lots shipped through Sotheby's from the date on which we have received a signed quote acceptance from you.
